In the auditorium of the University 草榴社区 of Cape Verde, in celebration of International Nurses Day on May 12, a lecture was held on the theme "Our Nurses; Our Future; The Economic Power of Care".
The event featured three distinct panels, each addressing crucial aspects of the profession. In the first panel titled "Nursing Practice in Primary Care", speakers shared their experiences in health centers, highlighting strategies such as internal lectures and interventions in schools and vulnerable communities to promote health.
The second panel focused on "Leadership and Management in Nursing". Nurses emphasized that leadership is not about imposing but about shared responsibility and teamwork.
In the third and final panel, titled "Delivering Nursing Services Autonomously and Innovatively", fourth-year nursing students moderated the discussion, while experienced nurses shared their insights.
At the end of the event, certificates and gifts were presented to the speakers, followed by the nursing students singing the anthem. It was an enriching and inspiring occasion, reinforcing the commitment and importance of nursing in the Cape Verdean community.
