At the end of September, the UniPiaget welcomed Dr Amulya Aruru as part of a partnership with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Under the guidance of Dr Raffaella Gozzelino and Professor Lara Gómez, Amulya has worked until 4 December on the first phase of the project untitled “Assessing the Impact of Climate Change on Human Health and Vector-Borne Diseases in Cape Verde”. The main aim of the project is to create a predictive model of disease outbreaks based on the country’s climatic and nutritional conditions. During his stay, data was collected through questionnaires and meetings were held with various local institutions. This visit reinforces collaboration in the areas of One Health and climate change, and is the second from MIT to UniPiaget.
